{"id":1025,"date":"2017-09-28T17:06:10","date_gmt":"2017-09-28T15:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ent2d.ac-bordeaux.fr\/disciplines\/anglaisvoiepro\/?p=1025"},"modified":"2022-05-01T22:29:36","modified_gmt":"2022-05-01T20:29:36","slug":"en-savoir-plus-sur-jr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ent2d.ac-bordeaux.fr\/disciplines\/anglaisvoiepro\/2017\/09\/28\/en-savoir-plus-sur-jr\/","title":{"rendered":"En savoir plus sur &#8230; JR, the French Banksy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes called the French Banksy,\u00a0visual artist JR is known for his larger-than-life black-and-white portraits, which he pastes on walls in public places.<\/p>\n<p>This week, he installed his newest piece, located at\u00a0U.S.-Mexico border in Tecate, and, luckily, he wasn&#8217;t arrested.<\/p>\n<p>The work is a massive, billboard-sized photographic cutout. It features a 1-year-old toddler, nicknamed Kikito, who seems to be peeking over the border wall onto the U.S. side from Mexico, his fingers resting on top of the wall.<\/p>\n<p>The installation coincided with President Trump\u2019s announcement to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think the point of an artist is to raise questions not necessarily give answers,&#8221; says JR. &#8220;In my case, when I went first and scouted the wall in the bottom of Mexico and U.S., like many other people, I thought there was no wall because Mr. Trump is talking every day about building a wall.
